Memory Kits for Older Adults

Spark conversation and familiar memories with Memory Kits. Intended for people living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or cognitive impairment, these kits can help provide mental and emotional stimulation and build connection with caregivers.

Each kit contains:

  • An interactive activity
  • A large print book and colorful illustrations designed for people with memory loss
  • Soothing or nostalgic music
  • Audiovisual materials

Each kit centers on a specific theme or common timeframe to create conversation among caregivers and people living with cognitive issues. Themes include, “The 1940’s,” “50’s,” and “60’s,” and “Just for Caregivers,” as well as a set of kits addressing the different stages of dementia.

Memory Kit access is made possible by the generosity of the Mendocino County Library. Check out a kit from the Sonoma County Library catalog for up to 21 days.
