Facilities
The Joint Powers Agreement states that the Sonoma County Library Commission will “Adopt a facilities maintenance plan at least once every three years, and revise it as necessary.”
The 2016 Measure Y sales tax and the 2021 Reimagining Plan for the library emphasize the importance of well-maintained, safe and adequate facilities that offer comprehensive library services.
In 2022, the Library Commission accepted an updated Facilities Master Plan that reviews the conditions of library facilities and includes recommendations for maintenance and future growth.
The Facilities Master Plan fulfills the JPA governance objective and implements the recommendations of Measure Y Expenditure Plan and the Reimagining Plan.
The goal of the Facilities Master Plan is to guide facilities planning and improvements for the next 10 years. The plan addresses priorities for welcoming, flexible spaces that provide opportunities for exploration and discovery.
