About Coursera

Using Coursera, you can access courses from leading universities and companies for flexible job-relevant online learning. Coursera offers a range of learning opportunities—from hands-on projects and courses to job-ready certificates and degree programs.

Coursera ‘seats’

By accessing Coursera with your library card, you are getting an all-access ‘seat.’ Coursera access is available to full general card holders (14 digit card numbers). If you are an eCard holder (7 digits+1or +2 card numbers), visit your local Sonoma County Library location to get a general card.

Due to the popularity of Coursera and the limited number of seats available, access is not guaranteed. Seats which are used regularly (at least once a month) will remain active.

Inactive Users

Due to high demand, your seat will be reassigned without notice if your account is inactive for 30 days or longer. Your account will transition to a general Coursera account with limited access to free content, and any previous activity will be retained. You may register for another seat after 24 hours (as long as seats are available).

When the Program is Full

If there are no available seats, you will see a "Program Full" notification. Please check back regularly to see if seats become available, as there is no waiting list and access is not guaranteed.

If there are no available seats, we suggest you might try our Linked-In training access as well as our other eLearning resources .
