  • North Bay Area (California) Parents for Gender Diversity
    Facebook community group of parents and guardians of transgender and gender queer children within Sonoma, Marin, Napa, and Mendocino counties.
  • North Bay LGBTQI Families
    Group that provides LGBTQIA+ families with a welcoming community. The group advocates for inclusive and diverse spaces in Sonoma County, planning family-friendly social events and opportunities for parents/guardians to develop tools and skills to better help their children.
  • Gender Spectrum
    Gender Spectrum provides resources for teens, adults, and parents of LGBTQIA+ children.

LGBTQIA+ Youth & Adult Resources

  • Amor Para Todos
    Amor Para Todos works with schools around Sonoma County to create student-led clubs that support LGBTQIA+ students. APT also helps schools adopt a gender-inclusive sex education model.
  • LGBTQ Connection
    LGBTQ Connection is a nonprofit organization aimed to help the LGBTQIA+ community. The organization hosts social events for youth and older adults, offers free counseling for both individuals and families, school support, and more.
  • Positive Images
    Positive Images is a nonprofit organization that serves the LGBTQIA+ community of Sonoma County. The Positive Images community center hosts multiple weekly support groups, youth leadership programs, mentorship opportunities, and a library full of resources and books.
  • Sage Casey Foundation
    Created to honor the memory of local teen Sage Casey, the mission of this nonprofit is to bring awareness to suicide prevention, reduce the stigma surrounding conversations about mental health, and to provide support to local youth by empowering them to find and pursue their passions.
  • TransLife Sonoma County
    TRANSLIFE strives to provide a safe and affirming environment for trans folks and gender nonconforming individuals of all backgrounds, hosting social events such as hikes, picnics, and more.

Health Care

  • Planned Parenthood
    Planned Parenthood provides birth control, PreP, STI testing, abortions, gender-affirming medical care, and more. Available to all on a sliding scale. No insurance necessary and you do not need a parent to accompany you, nor will they be notified.

  • Queer Book Club
    Join librarians virtually to discuss books centering on LGBTQIA+ voices. Meets the second Wednesday of the month (January-December 2023) from 6-7 pm.
  • Teen Pride Book Clubs
    Check the library events calendar for regular meetings, both in-person or virtual, for a safe space to discuss books and other media that showcase queer voices and experiences.
  • Here & Queer
    Here + Queer, Sonoma County collects, archives, and amplifies the histories of Sonoma County’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) communities. Throughout history, LGBTQIA+ people have fought for equality, representation, and dignity in society. Share your story!
