Forms & Information
The library provides access to state and federal tax forms and offers free printing of up to 33 pages per day.
A limited quantity of the most popular tax forms are available at Sonoma County Library locations. Branches may not offer this service because of space limitations or because the forms have not been made available. Please call your local branch to check availability.

AARP Foundation Tax Aide Program
The AARP Tax Aide program offers free tax help. For the 2023 tax season, those in Sonoma County will have a variety of options for free tax preparation through the Tax-Aide program. They include in-person, drop-off and online services, which vary by location. For the most up-to-date information, visit https://www.aarp.org/money/taxes/aarp_taxaide/locations.html.
Healdsburg Regional Library, Petaluma Regional Library, and Rincon Valley Library will be hosting AARP Tax-Aid tax preparation assistance. File Taxes for Free
In 2024, the IRS launched a new service called Free Federal Return for Everyone where you can e-file your taxes directly to the IRS. The service is free, and you can file your state return for only $14.99.*
* This service is available to filers with an adjusted gross income of $79,000 or less.
Hundreds of the most popular federal tax forms and publications are available for download from irs.gov [https://www.irs.gov/es] for sight impaired individuals. These products range from talking tax forms to Braille formats, and are accessible using screen reading software, refreshable Braille displays and voice recognition software. The IRS also offers customer service assistance for persons who are deaf or who have hearing disabilities. People with TTY equipment may call toll-free 800-829-4059 for assistance.
People who are unable to complete their tax return because of a physical disability may get assistance from an IRS office, or through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) sponsored by IRS. Taxpayers can find a nearby location by calling 800-906-9887.
